Q1: Bas, could you briefly introduce yourself and share a bit about your background before Supplied?
Of course.
My background is in scaling B2B companies: building and leading sales organizations, developing go-to-market strategies, and guiding complex enterprise clients through digital transformation. My expertise spans digital platforms, MaaS and SaaS ecosystems, and payment integrations always with a focus on creating high-value, client-driven solutions.
Throughout my career, I kept encountering the same reality: compliance, if not managed properly, becomes a bottleneck. That experience is exactly what drew me to Supplied a company that leverages technology to simplify compliance instead of making it more complex.
Q2: What excited you most about becoming Chief Commercial Officer at Supplied?
What convinced me immediately is Supplied’s mission: transforming compliance from a cost burden into a strategic advantage.
The team has developed an AI-driven platform that goes beyond DAC7 reporting. It accelerates supplier onboarding, improves data quality, and gives platforms and advisors the confidence to expand internationally.
I saw a clear opportunity to build commercial activities around a product that solves an urgent market problem. And I am convinced that in the future, we can unlock even more value from this data and create additional opportunities for our clients and partners.
Q3: Supplied works closely with digital platforms and accountants. In your view, what are the biggest challenges they face with DAC7 and compliance?
I see three main challenges:
Q4: How does Supplied help clients solve these challenges?
Supplied takes the heavy lifting out of compliance by consolidating everything into a single platform.
Instead of chasing data in booking systems, spreadsheets, or ERPs, we automatically collect and structure it. Our onboarding tools make it easy to collect, enrich, and verify supplier information via bulk uploads or through our user-friendly app. Our reporting engine then turns that data into regulator-ready reports.
The real difference is speed and certainty: accountants and platforms know they are compliant without diverting engineers or finance teams from their core work. That means lower risk, lower costs, saving time and more focus on growth.
Q5: Can you share a client success story?
One of our platform clients in the logistics sector, Brenger, faced the challenge of preparing for DAC7 while also efficiently onboarding thousands of suppliers. Their compliance processes were previously manual and costly.
By implementing Supplied, Brenger streamlined onboarding, automated due diligence checks, and prepared DAC7 reports on time while significantly reducing compliance costs.
For us, this clearly demonstrates how compliance can shift from being a burden to becoming a driver of growth.
Q6: Partnerships are important in the compliance ecosystem. How do you see the role of accountants and advisors here?
Accountants and advisors are absolutely essential. They are the trusted partners that platforms turn to when new regulations such as DAC7 and the upcoming DAC8 land on their desks.
But even for the best advisory firms, manually scaling compliance is not sustainable. That’s where the strength of partnership lies: we provide the technology backbone, and they bring the client relationship and expertise.
Together, we deliver a seamless service. Accountants can expand their offerings without building complex tools themselves, and their clients benefit from a reliable, automated way to remain compliant.
Q7: Looking ahead, what excites you most about Supplied’s future?
What excites me most is the scale of the opportunity. DAC7 is just the beginning, the OECD model and other reporting obligations are spreading quickly, and every platform will need a smarter way to onboard suppliers, verify data, and stay compliant.
Supplied is uniquely positioned to become the infrastructure for this. Beyond our current DAC7 solution, I see enormous potential to leverage the power of our AI-driven platform more broadly: bringing together fragmented data from multiple sources and transforming it into regulator-ready reports not just for tax and compliance, but also for future domains such as ESG and beyond.
That’s where the real transformation lies.
Closing thought from Bas:
Compliance will always exist, and history shows us that regulations only become more complex. But that doesn’t mean businesses have to be held back by it. At Supplied, we prove that the right technology relieves the pressure on accountants and platforms while creating new opportunities for growth.
I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and even more excited about the road ahead together with our clients, partners, and team.
